It was mounted on a 'Tropical' strap made of a new composite material that was ultra-resistant to traction and UV rays.

Reference 5968/1A with its self-winding flyback chronograph movement also impresses with its unusual aesthetics, where the orange chronograph indications stand out against the black background of the dial.
The Aquanaut Reference 5968/1A-001 is fitted with a self-winding mechanical movement Calibre Ch 28-520 C.
The case is made of stainless steel, has a screw-down crown and is water-resistant to 120m.
It is sold (when new) with two ultra-strong orange and black composite straps and comes with an official Patek Philippe warranty, valid for two years.
